Hong Kong Maritime Museum
In this slow art day project, visitors are invited to look slowly at a few pieces of art:fishing ballads, boats and the past and present of the HK coastline. By listening to the fishing ballads, exploring the story of boat building as well as discovering the change between the past and present of the HK coastline, this project is expected to encourage the audience to participate in the fading culture heritage and pay attention to fading coastal line as well. Consequently, it would trigger public more attention about the culture of fishing ballads and craftsmanship, on the other hand, the relationship between human and ocean will be reconsidered through introspecting the maritime history under anthropogenic activities.

Curatorial Statement
This one-day programme seeks to uncover the relationship between humans and the sea through three chapters: "Fisherfolks' Ballads", "Boat Builders" and "By the Coast", which will explore fishing ballads, the shipbuilding industry, and coastline changes respectively. Alongside ongoing exhibitions in the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, sharing sessions and fun activities will enable visitors to discover how the culture was derived from the connection between humans and the sea throughout history, as well as how the cultural products have changed overtime. Visitors will thus be reminded of the forgotten stories and encouraged to reflect upon the impact of human activities on the sea.
